Looks like we hit a few snags on our bumpy road. We have been side-tracked trying to raise a little extra money for the project.

Things are still creeping along...

We are just about ready to put up our fundraising video to cover pre-production costs. We are working out what we want in the background of the video. In the next couple weeks we will be meeting with our 3D designer to add the clip to the fundraising video and put on the final touches before uploading it.

Costume options to consider. Each of these will be added to the proposal. Which do you like?

Our work is coming along slowly but surely. We have a nice westcott 2-light location kit at our disposal. A few locations have been looked at and a few more have yet to be seen, but haven't been removed from the table so-to-speak. The wardrobe sketches are underway and just about done. We are almost ready to put together our promo video and start raising funds. Once we reach that point is won't take long until we are on set with film rolling.

After a discussion with the 3D artist, we have decided to shoot for June as the completion date for the 3D rendering of a complete castle and surrounding landscape. The promo video should be done one month after the 3D artist is done.

There is hope yet!

So here we are still trudging along. Things are still going a lot slower than we would like. But, once our castle is complete, things should begin to speed up. Our fundraising video is in the works and hopefully will not be more than 2-3 minutes long. It will include the 3D rendering of Rait castle.

Looks like we are having technical difficulties with some program plugins - not pretty . . . Hopefully everything will work out and get us a beautiful rendering of an old castle.

Things are coming along, albeit a little slower than expected. However, we are not discouraged. All of the walls to the castle are complete and the windows are being worked on. Eventually a floor and roof will be laid and grass added to the surrounding area. The suspense is building as we patiently wait for the artist to work his magic. . .

Time sure does fly. The castle is nearly ready! The script is getting longer. And, one of our crew is planning to go back to school for a Master's degree...

Our goal right now is to get the 3D castle complete. Sometime next week we will upload a photo of the progress. Hopefully once the castle is created, we can start working on fundraising materials to spread the word beyond the blog . . .

We got a peek at the in-progress 3D rendering of Rait castle today. The tower and one wall is complete. It looks fantastic so far. Once complete we will post an actual photo. Rait castle is being built using Strata Design 3D.

An official logo to represent the movie in underway and some sketches should be ready by the end of the week. The designer is talented and seems to understand what we are looking for. Fingers crossed.

The first 5 scenes have been written - about 20 to 25 minutes worth of video. Also, the tentative budget is near complete. And the final touches are being put onto the funding package. Progress is being made slowly but surely. I imagine the longest part of the process will be in securing funding to turn this project into a reality. But we are taking things one step at a time.

The script is underway and the funding package is slowly coming together. Hopefully we'll have more to showcase by the end of the month. For now, just little updates on our progress. As always volunteers are welcomed and appreciated.

To get this movie project going
we will need time and talent from:

1. Researchers and History buffs - to confirm names, dates, places, clothing, shoes, home decor (light sources, tables, chairs, storage containers, etc.)

2. An additional writer/director - to take the story from the pages to the big screen
